Healing with the Angels

We all have what is called free will. The angels cannot help us unless they are asked.  According to the bible angels can only help one person at a time as they are not considered omnipresent (Dan 10:13). However, this view has now changed as it is believed that angels can help multitudes of people at the same time as they are not restricted by time and space in the same way as us mortals.

If you ask your angels for help you are not taking them away from important missions, no matter how trivial you request may be.  A good example is the "Car Parking" angel.  The next time you are going somwhere, ask your angels for a car parking space for when you get to your destination.  When I remembered, I used to ask for a car parking space for when I took my invalid mother-in-law out on Saturday afternoons in town, when car parking space would invariably by few and far between.  The majority of times a car parking space would be there on the busiest of days.

We can ask the angels for anything that is for the good of ourselves.  We cannot, however, ask the angels to interfere with other people's free will.  Nor will it work if you ask them for Saturday nights lottery numbers; it just doesn't work like that!  We can however ask for things that make our lives happy and peaceful, for things that are for the good of ourselves and others.Angels cannot be summoned to do anything that is not at one with good or God's light.  They are at the end of the day God's messengers.  Nor must we worship them; they are purely God's messengers and helpers.

Angels can be used to enhance healing work as they are there to help assist for the highest good of all.  Archangel Raphael is the angel to ask for help with healing.  His name means "God heals".  Raphael can be asked to assist in the healing of the self and others.  Again, you cannot facilitate the healing of others unless permission has been asked as this goes against free will.  If you are involved in healing work of any kind you can ask the Archangel Raphael to enhance your healing.  You can also ask Archangel Raphael for guidance before or after the healing session.

Raphael's assistance can also be asked for in helping find the right course for healers and can help in finding the right customers for healing practises. You will know if Archangel Raphael is around if you see sparkles of Emerald green light.  He can also help you open you third eye chakra (the spiritual energy centre).  Archangel Raphael also works well with Archangel Michael.

Bringing Peace to all

Angels are not there to be idolised or worshipped in any way. Instead we give all glory to God or the Divine Source, whatever you want to call it. Angels act on God's behalf by bringing peace to the world, and this may be one person at a time. It is their divine mission to bring peace to the world to help bring about a more peaceful world. If we live our live in a more peaceful way we are more in tune with our authentic self.

Third Sphere

Principalities

They work alongside the Powers. They are shown wearing a crown and carrying a sceptre. Their task is to oversee groups of people, perhaps large organisations of people such as companies, hospitals, councils, etc. They are said to inspire living things to many ideas such as art or science.

Archangels

Archangels are the most frequently referred to angels in the bible. They may be of this or other hierarchies as Archangel Michael, who is considered a Seraph. They have a unique role as God's messenger throughout history. The Eastern Rite (Roman Catholic) and many others consider him above all the angels, as Prince of the Seraphim. The angel Gabriel first appeared in the Old Testament in the prophesies of Daniel (Dn 9:21-27). He appeared to Zechariah to announce the birth of St. John the Baptist (Lk 1:11) and he proclaimed the Annunciation of Mary to be the mother of Jesus (Lk 1:26). The angel Raphael first appeared in the book of Tobit (Tobias)Tb 3:25, 5:5-28, 6-12). He proclaimed "I am the Angel Raphael, one of the seven who stand before the throne of God" (Tb 12:15).

Angels

These are closest to human beings and the material world and include guardian angels. They have the ability to access all the others angels. They deliver our prayers to God and respond with God's answers back.

Second Sphere

Dominions

The Dominions are considered the angels of leadership, regulating the duties of angels and making known the commands of God. It is said that they are the angels that preside over nations. They are believed to look like beautiful humans with wings but are differentiated from other angels by having an orb of light attached to their sceptres or on the pommel of their swords.

Virtues

Their primary duty is to oversee the heavenly bodies and ensure the cosmos is in order. In the Summa Theologica, they are presented as the celestial Choir "Virtues". According to the Catholic tradition they govern all nature, having control over seasons, stars, moon and even the sun. They provide courage, grace, and valour and are also in charge of miracles.

Powers

The powers may work with the principalities or Rulers (3rd choir). They are said to be warrior angels, defending the cosmos and humans against evil. They are known as potentates. They fight against evil spirits who attempt to wreak chaos through human beings. They are the bearers of conscience and the keepers of history (Akashic Records). Their duty is to oversee the distribution of power among humnakind.

First Sphere

Seraphim

These are the highest order or choir of angels. They are mentioned in the bible in Isaiah 6:1-7 and Rev. 4 6-8. Seraphim comes possibly from the Hebrew verb saraph "to burn" or the Hebrew noun saraph "a fiery, flying serpent". They are described in Isaiah as having six pairs of wings, one pair for flying, one pair for covering their eyes (even they cannot look at God) and one pair for covering their feet (believed to be a euphemism for genitalia). They are described as having eyes all around.

Cherubim

These are the second highest in the order or choirs of angels.According to Ezechiel's vision they were in the form of a man, with a man's face at the front, an eagle's face to the rear, and ox's face to the left and a lion's face to the right. He described them as having four arms, each with a wing attached, with a pair of wings outstretched and the other pair covering the body. Along with this there were four wheels between each aspect of the four creatures, each facing outwards with the wheels doubled up facing sideways and forwards and backwards so that they could roll in any direction. Both the angels and the wheels were studded with eyes and the wheels were like beryl (Ez. 10 1-20). They are considered guardians of God's glory and symbolise God's power and mobility.

Thrones or Ophanim

The word "Ophan" means wheel in Hebrew. They have hence been associated as being the double wheels covered in eyes in Ezekiels' description that move alongside the Cherubim (see above). They may be however the Thrones described by Paul of Tarsus in Colossians 1:16, celestial beings that are symbols of God's justice and authority. According to the Catholic tradition the Thrones are the Angels of pure Humility, Peace and Submission, residing in the area of the cosmos where material form begins to take shape. It is suggested that the lower Choir of Angels need the Thrones to access God.

Angel Hierarchy

The angels are grouped in a hierarchy or Choirs althought there is much speculation as to how these hierarchies or choirs are grouped. According to the Catholic tradition there are nine choirs of angels which are:
Seraphim
Cherubin
Thrones
Dominions (Authorities)
Virtues (Lordships)
Powers
Archangels
Principalities
Angels

This Christian angelic hierarchy was put forward by Pseudo-Dionysius the Areopagite in the 4th or 5th century in his book De Coelesti Hierarchia (The Celestial Hierarchy). Pseudo-Dionysius and Thomas Aquinas, in his work called Summa Theologica, drew on passages from the New Testament, specifically Ephesians 1:21 and Colossians 1:16, in an attempt to reveal a schema of three Hierarchies, Spheres or Triads of angels, with each Hierarchy containing three Orders or Choirs.
The nine choirs of angels are divided into three spheres as follows:

St. Thomas Aquinas in Summa Theologica (1225–1274):
1. Seraphim, Cherubim, and Thrones;
2. Dominations, Virtues, and Powers;
3. Principalities, Archangels, and Angels.

He is regarded as the wisest of archangels and will give practical solutions and insights to problems. Uriel's presence is said to be subtle. He is accredited to weather and earth events such as earthquakes, floods, tornadoes, thunder, lightening, natural disaster and the weather. He can also help with writing.

Archangel Sandalphon

Name means "brother" in Greek in reference to his twin brother, the archangel Metatron, both of whom were originally mortal men. Sandalphon in his earthly incarnation was the prophet Elijah. Immortal assignments were given to both men for their earthly good work. Elijah was ascended to the heavenly realms in a fiery chariot, led by two horses of fire alongside a whirlwind.

Sandalphon's main role is to take human prayers to God to be answered. He is said to extend from earth to heaven as he is so tall. His messages may come as soft whispers and they may also come to you as music or words you may hear in your mind.

Archangel Raziel

Name means "Secret of God". This is because he is reputed to know the secrets of the universe. He wrote the "Book of the Angel Raziel" (see also Archangel Metatron). Many scholars debate the origins of the book but the book itself is difficult to understand and it is said that one must call upon Raziel to understand it.

He can assist in the understanding of high level information such as quantum physics, sacred geometry and esoterical materials. He can assist in you ability to access Divine Guidance. He is said to have a loving presence, kind and intelligent. He can have a positive effect in spiritual practices and deepen your understanding of them.

Archangel Raphael

Name means "God heals". A powerful healer of animals and people. Raphael can be called upon on behalf of others, but as with all angels, cannot interfere with free will. Raphael is also known as the "Patron of Travellers" as he travelled with Tobias in the Book of Tobit and kept him free from harm.

He helps with all aspects of travel as well as spiritual journeys.

Tobias was also shown by Raphael how to use fish parts in medicinal ways. Raphael can guide healers during treatments. He helps with the education of would-be healers and helps in setting up their practices by attracting clients. He is a guide and healer for all animals. You can call upon him to resolve conflicts and act as a mediator.

He taught Adam to farm in the Garden of Eden and gave courage to Joan of Arc in order for her to lead France during the 100 years war. He is said to appear as tall, handsome and carrying a sword. He uses his sword to set us free of fear. He is said to have a fiery energy and when he is present you may see flashes of purple or bright blue. He can also be called upon to fix mechanical and electrical devices. He can be called upon to give life's direction, purpose or career path. He motivates and guides us and increases self esteem.

Archangel Metatron

The meaning of Metatron's name is unknown. He is one of only two mortals who became archangels (the other is Sandalphon). He is sometimes called the "Angel of the Presence". he is considered to be the youngest of the archangels because of his previous earthly existence, having lived his life as Enoch, a prophet and a scribe. He received "The Book of the Angel Raziel", created by the Archangel Raziel which was given to Adam, Noah, Enoch and Solomon (copies of the Book of the Angel Raziel are available and has recently been translated into English. It is said to understand the book (originally written in ancient Hebrew and Aramaic) you need to call on the help of Archangel Raziel).

For these works God escorted Enoch straight to the highest level- the Seventh Heaven - to live and work. As a result he was given a similar role in Heaven. He keeps records of everything on Earth and stores it in the Akashic Records. He acts as intermediary between Earth and Heaven, having once experienced earthly life and assisting those in their earthly existence. He is said to have a fiery and energetic energy. He assists children, helping them to develop spiritual gifts as well as helping those that have crossed over. He is motivational and strong and will assist you in making bold choices.

Archangel Gabriel

Means "God is my strength". This angel is one of the most familiar and told Mary about the birth of her son Jesus. He allegedly also dictated the Koran to Mohammed. Known therfore as the "messenger" Angel. He assists with the adoption or conception of children. Assists anyone whos life purpose involves art or communication such as actors, dancers, singers or teachers. They may call upon his assistance as well as those that may deliver massages of a spiritual nature. Gabriel is the angel of action and those that ask for his assistance will be pushed forward into positive action.

Archangel Chamuel

Name means "he who sees God". Considered as a powerful leader of the "Powers". The "Powers" are angels who act like bouncers to turn away those that seek to overtake the world in a negative way and to protect the world from lower energies. He protects the world as a whole and our personal world too. He helps us to find anything that seems lost, such as our life purpose, careers, relationships, friends and actual lost items. He appears as kind and loving and you will know when he is around as you may feel butterflies in your stomach or tingling.

Archangel Azrael

Name means "God helps". His aim is to assist people at the time of their passing. He also helps people cope with their grief. Azrael can be called upon to give comfort to those that are dying and to help with their crossing over. It is said that he appears as quiet, comforting and composed.

Archangel Ariel

Name means "lion or lioness of God" and when she is near you you may have visions of lions. Also associated with the wind. She oversees water environments and the protecting and healing of nature. She helps with the protection of wild animals. Ariel works closely with Archangel Raphael to heal animals. You will sense a breeze or change in air when she is with you.

The Archangels and Ascended Masters

The archangels and ascended masters work with humankind on behalf of God (or the Divine Source) and are non- denominational. They help anyone regardless of religious background. My personal opinion is that although religions help people through unity of belief, organised religion has evolved mainly through mans work, not Gods. The bible tells us that Angels can only work with one person at a time. However, angels can work with each and everyone of us at the same time because they are not bound by space and time like us on the earthplane. The angels can work and move quicker that the human eye as the angelic realm is not bound by time and space.

The angels are neither male nor female but may be described as his or her rather than "it". Angel names (with the exception of Metatron and his twin Sandalphon who both once had earthly lives) end in "el" to mean "of God".

A brief commentary on the work of Rudolf Steiner

The work of Rudolf Steiner (25 or 27 February 1861 - 30 March 1925) helped shift the view of the angels from religious to more humanistic. A German scientist and philosopher, he developed a deep understanding of the angels. He believed that as we became more evolved as human beings the more connected to the angels we would become. Steiner suggested that angels work through images and he suggested that we need to work on our intuition and imagination to decode these images. Steiner thought that Angelic teaching had a threefold purpose. This was that each person would find their own link with divinity, that they would come to live in freedom and honour the divine source within themselves and others.

Angel Wings

I often thought why angels were always depicted as having wings. Then, one day during meditation, I was shown why. An angel appeared to me in my mind's eye and showed me her "wings". They were not wings at all but the energy field emanating from her shoulders, outwards. This energy did not glow and as such it was not evenly distributed. It was crystalline in appearance as if a cloak of double termination clear crystals were joined together like a shield that reached outwards. This crystalline energy looked feather-like in its appearance with the size and shape of "wings". I feel that this is why angels have been traditionally pictured with "feather" like wings.

Most of us with ordinary everyday things going on in our lives may not be aware of the angels and, like I once was, sceptical to their existence. It is up to us to open ourselves to the endless possibilities that the angels can show us. Trust your higher self to put you in touch with the angelic realm. Since discovering the angels myself, I have come across several people who have angelic communication and signs regularly; they just don't realise it.

Angelic Communication

The angels may communicate through what may be contrived as archaic language. The majority of angels (with the exception of Archangel Metatron; the prophet Enoch and his twin brother Archangel Sandalphon; the prophet Elijah), have not experienced a worldly existence. They more often than not communicate a great deal in symbology. Symbols are another topic in itself.

When messages are given by the angelic realm, they may be blunt, to the point and given in quite an old fashioned way with no shortened descriptives such as shouldn't; they may say should not for example. Angels and ascended masters will invariably refer to the recipient of the message as "dear one" or "child".

Traditional texts imply that they also have no lips, tongue or voice box but I have personally not found this so. They may appear tall, maybe 12 or 20 foot tall or smaller. Angels will appear to you as they wish to appear and is unique to each person. Keep your mind open and not bound by what you may expect. They always surprise!!

Making an Angel Table

Making an Angel table or altar can help you connect with your angels. It can also provide a quiet space where you can collect your thoughts, meditate or go to when you need an answer to a problem.

Firstly cover your table with gold or silver cloth or out up a silver or gold shelf. You can get a cheap shelf form a DIY store and spray paint it. Place an angel figurine in the centre and next to it place a silver or gold candle. You can place fresh flowers on your table, preferably yellow ones and make sure you replace any dead ones. Then place a quartz crystal to the left of the dislay. You can place underneath the crystal a banknote to increase wealth, or alternatively what I like to do is to place my purse under the crystal every evening to keep money flowing in. You can also add other things such as small crystals, feathers or shells. Then dedicate your alter or table with a little prayer. Make sure you keep your space dust free and uncluttered.

Do Angels Exist?

When we think of Angels we think of the traditional image of a being, predominantly male, beautiful, glowing and with wings. But is this a correct image of angels? The answer to that question is that they may appear to us in whatever form we aspire to. I personally see them as tall, gracious beings with wings and flowing robes with beautiful faces that are neither male nor female. Your view may be different. Most of my knowledge has come from traditional texts, mainly the Bible being brought up loosely with the Roman Catholic faith. As part of the Roman Catholic tradition we believed that we have a guardian angel that looks after us and that this guardian angel will be at our side, watching over us all our lives, ready to guide us to the afterlife (whilst firstly stopping off at purgatory if the soul is not ready for heaven) when we pass over. This catholic tradition is based on references in the bible such as "And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the Angels into Abraham's bosom" [Luke 16: 22].

The angels are however not restricted to the Bible. The Koran was dictated to Mohammed by the archangel Gabriel and there are examples of angels in many other religious texts.

Hopefully, you have beared with me so far and not run away because I have mentioned religion and religious texts, but this is where we get our traditional views about angels. The angels are basically there to help make us happy because happiness can be infectious to others. Think about the last time you came across someone who was wallowing in their own misery, moaning about life and generally being very unhappy. How did that make you feel? Now think of someone who was bright and happy and full of positivity (without being overbearing). Notice the difference? The angels want us to be happy but they have to have permission to make our lives joyful. There is a passage in the bible which for me is applicable to everyday life "Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you" [Matthew 7:7]. In other words, if you don't ask, you don't get! And this applies to angels; they need your permission to help in your life. Try it - you may be surprised!
